Quynh Paris Runway Show Blends Futuristic Structure with Rich Textures for Fall 2014

Couture designer Quynh Paris launches Q by Quynh Paris, a ready-to-wear collection of day-into-night separates and dresses, featuring her trademark asymmetric constructions that blend richness of detail and multi-cultural influences.  Her runway show during Los Angeles Style Fashion Week included 25 ready-to-wear styles that drew the admiration of a star-studded audience of celebrity stylists and their clients, including Christina Milian, Tamar Braxton, Rebecca Da Costa,  Nikoletta Barabas, Anna Maria Horsford, the current Miss Vietnam and Miss Nigeria USA.

Quynh Paris’ Ready-to-Wear collection artfully blends Asian influences with futuristic-inspired shapes and volumes accented by pointy sleeves, structural collars, sweeping arched jacket closures, and contrast fabric inserts.  The meticulously-detailed dresses and separates are intricately constructed using expert tailoring techniques, to create 3-d sculptural shapes that envelop the body like a cocoon. Blacks and neutrals are enlivened by jewel-tone pops of color, and iridescent wools are complemented by double-faced, patterned silks.

The designer’s parallel art career continues to spill over into her fashion: surface detailing, intricate beading, paintbrush strokes, metal wiring, and fabric manipulations, to create 3-d sculptural structures that have a life of their own, as they envelop and transform the body of the wearer.  “Fashion and art are intimately connected,” says designer Quynh Nhu. “Art inspires and uplifts my soul.  I love beautifully tailored garments. Adding art to fashion is what makes a garment unforgettable and inspiring.”

A graduate of the Mod’Art International fashion school in Paris, designer Quynh Nhu launched her couture collection in Paris in 2011.  Quynh Paris couture collections have been showcased in runway shows in Paris, Saigon, and Los Angeles, each season, since the 2011 launch.  Each season, the couture collections explore a new theme, as she lets her multi-cultural artistic creativity express itself through volume, three-dimensional shapes, fluid movement, rich colors and intricate details.

Quynh Paris couture pieces have been worn by numerous Miss Vietnam winners and contestants, top models, international celebrities, and has been featured in numerous fashion editiorials in Vietnam and Europe.  Also an accomplished violinist, painter, dancer, and gymnast, Quynh is a graduate of the HCM Academy of Music, and has a university diploma in Economics and Foreign Languages.  Quynh lives a life steeped in music and the arts, as she constantly bridges East and West, old and new cultures, dividing her time between Los Angeles, Paris, and Vietnam.
