Known for their expertise on silhouettes and delicate embroidery to create a distinctive old-world romantic look, designer duo Paras and Shalini came out with their finest collection named ‘LAGOON’ under their umbrella brand Geisha Design during the 1st day of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014.

The glamour was further added by the presence of supermodel turned actress Mugdha Godse turned the heat up by walking the ramp as the showstopper wearing a combination of red and white dress in which she looked stunning.

With their latest collection, the Geisha girl is now Younger and Bolder. Her spirit remains rooted in romance but now with a new carefree attitude. Cuts are cooler, silhouettes are younger, with the introduction of more separates. The unpredictability in the flow of the show is its unique factor.

The Silhouette was clean with sporty cuts, shift dresses contrasted with romantic flowing ballerina skirt and dhoti inspired drapes & peg skirts are prominent in the collection.

Pastels played a big part in this collection, blush pink, sky blue and dusty lavender speaking the loudest against deep oranges and reds. Soft aqua, Sand, Chalky corals, morning blush punctuated with bright neons is intent on having fun. Coral like lacy patterns, Spray of neon, play of transparencies and opacities  and shadow like Applique work & Embroidery.

Paras and Shalini took their direct inspiration from the sea for the collection.

Key Fabrics seen in their collections were  Silk Tulle, Lycra jerseys, chiffons, georgettes, Dentelle/ Chantilly and Organzas. Bold earrings, complementing and contrasting colours of shoes, metallic shades for a hint of cool.  The Hair and makeup is Light and fresh, the barely there look, accented by hot lip stains. Champagne gold Nails complete the look. Romantic country side vocals fused with pop contemporary (Nicholas Jaar, Daft Punk..) set the mood.

Simple ,elegant, pretty ,feminine, romantic are the key words that encapsulate the collection.
