Michael Kors Enters Indian Market With First Store In New Delhi

Michael Kors recently announced the brand’s first foray into the Indian market with the opening of a store inside New Delhi’s DLF Emporio. DLF Emporio opened in 2008 as the first luxury-focused mall in India, and is home to both local and international luxury brands.

The 1,500-square-foot store will carry Michael Kors Collection ready-to-wear and handbags, as well as accessories, footwear, watches, eyewear and ready-to-wear from the MICHAEL Michael Kors line. This will be the first time that Michael Kors Collection and MICHAEL Michael Kors items are directly available to customers in India. The brand’s in-house team designed the store experience to reflect the label’s luxe aesthetic through the use of rich leather furniture, sleek metal fixtures and mirrored surfaces.

“I could not be more excited to open our first store in India,” says Michael Kors.

“I think that our Indian customers are extremely sophisticated and will appreciate the glamour, luxury and versatility they find in the store,” he added.

“The New Delhi store is our first venture into this growing market, and we’re optimistic that it will play a key role in the long-term growth of the company,” says John D. Idol, Chief Executive Officer. “We are looking forward to adding India to our list of international markets.”
